Why Should You Get an EnerGuide Evaluation?
An Energuide Evaluation provides valuable information about your home's energy performance, including its energy use, air leakage, and the potential savings from energy-efficiency upgrades. Whether you're planning renovations, purchasing a new home, or simply looking to reduce your utility bills, an EnerGuide evaluation provides the information you need to make informed decisions.
It is also required for many financing, rebate, and mortgage insurance programs.
Current Federal Programs
While the Canada Greener Homes Loan is closed to new applicants, Philips Energy Consulting continues to complete post-retrofit evaluations for homeowners who are finishing existing loan applications.
At this time, Alberta is not participating in the Greener Homes Affordability Program. As new provincial or federal incentive programs become available, we'll update this page.
Mortgage Insurance Premium Rebates
If your mortgage is insured through CMHC, Sagen, or Canada Guaranty, you may qualify for a mortgage insurance premium rebate of up to 25% on an eligible energy-efficient new home.
An EnerGuide evaluation is required to verify your home's energy performance and complete the rebate application.

CMHC Eco Improvement Program
CMHC also offers the Eco Improvement Program, which provides existing homeowners with a partial mortgage insurance premium refund of up to 25% after completing at least $20,000 in eligible energy-efficiency renovations within two years of purchasing their home.
