Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP)

The Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) provides homeowners with flexible, low-interest financing for eligible energy-efficiency upgrades. Unlike a traditional loan, repayment is made through your municipal property tax bill, making it an affordable way to invest in your home.

Eligible upgrades include insulation, air sealing, windows and doors, furnaces, heat pumps, water heaters, solar photovoltaic systems, and many other improvements that reduce energy consumption and improve comfort.

Many municipalities throughout Alberta participate in CEIP, including the Cities of Edmonton, St. Albert, Beaumont, and Spruce Grove, as well as Strathcona County, Sturgeon County, and numerous others. Program availability and application periods vary, so check the link below and with your municipality to confirm eligibility.

An EnerGuide evaluation is required both before and after your renovations. The pre-retrofit evaluation establishes your home's current performance and identifies upgrade opportunities, while the post-retrofit evaluation verifies the completed improvements.

Philips Energy Consulting provides both required Energuide evaluations and can help guide you through the process from start to finish.

Ready to begin? Once you've confirmed your CEIP eligibility, contact us to schedule your pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation.
